What should childhood look like?

Updated: Oct 5, 2023

A beautiful boy with Down’s Syndrome, Diêp was suffering from the effects of two congenital heart defects. He was born with two holes in his heart - an Atrial Septal Defect and Patent Ductus Arteriosis. As a result, Diêp experienced difficulty breathing and eating, was frequently sick and lethargic and unable to develop as a healthy child should.

That all changed when Diêp’s family received financial support from Healing Hearts to fund his heart surgery. Now able to enjoy a normal childhood, Diêp is developing into a happy and healthy young boy who is full of life. Coming from a very low income family, this procedure would not have been possible without your donations. Thank you!

On average, the cost of heart surgery in Vietnam is only $750. Your donations go a long way towards changing the lives of children such as Diêp.

This photo was taken on an HHV home visit back in 2019, after Diêp had received surgery.
