Huỳnh Anh’s Heart, Full of Hope

Hoàng Huynh Anh is the latest patient scheduled to receive heart surgery, made possible by the generous donors of Healing Hearts Vietnam.

Huỳnh Anh is nine years old and lives just outside Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition when she was very young, and her health has been monitored at the Children’s Hospital ever since. Her family had hoped that her heart might improve as she grew, but unfortunately, it did not. When playing with her friends, she often couldn’t keep up. As you can imagine, she felt disheartened and left out. A doctor at the Children’s Hospital introduced the family to University Medical Center (UMC), where they were told she might be eligible for surgical sponsorship. The family decided to take Huynh Anh there, knowing that surgery would only be possible with financial assistance. After further evaluations, doctors determined that she needs surgery to reconstruct her heart valve — and if that doesn’t work, she may require a full valve replacement.

Her family is currently going through a very difficult time. Her father recently suffered a stroke and is now paralyzed on his left side. On top of that, his business has collapsed, leaving them with no means to cover the cost of the surgery. When they learned that HHV might be able to help, it was a huge relief. Now, they are simply hoping the operation goes well and that Huynh Anh will recover and thrive.

Despite everything, Huynh Anh is a bright and determined girl. She loves learning, has a natural talent for English, and often studies on her own. Her family is deeply grateful for HHV’s support during this challenging time.
